  • Today, March 2nd is the birthday of Dr. Seuss, which kicks off a week long literacy celebration called Read Across America. Everyone is encouraged this week to give yourself some time to read for pleasure because after all in the famous words of Dr. Seuss, "The more that you READ, the more things you will KNOW. The more that you LEARN, the more places you'll GO."

  • JROTC competed in Brennan High School Drill meet on February 21st, we want to congratulate the following teams and cadets on their winnings:

    • 2nd place on our JLAB Academic Team, which consists of Nikolas Hoerman, Leonardo Garcia-Bernal, Lawrance Votion, and Joaquin Jaramillo

    • 3rd place- on our female physical fitness team, which consist of Abigail Cantu, Alessandra Leos, Summer Talkington and Mercedes Cabrera

    • 4th place- on our male physical fitness team, which consist of William Morantez, Ernesto Aguilar, Jaycob Juarez and Anthony Paredez

  • On Friday, November 17th, the Pleasanton Eagles pole vault dynasty traveled to Floresville to give a few district opponents a sneak peek of what’s to come. Starting the day for the Eagles was Natalie Read, who was making her varsity season debut. Alicia Keys was not at the meet, but this girl was on fire, finishing in 4th place and earning the Lady Eagles some much-needed points. Watching and waiting was Layla Rodriguez, who entered the competition at a ridonkulous 9 feet, 6 inches. Although Layla was battling an ankle injury, this Lone Star pole vaulter showed everyone who is really Elite! She finished in 1st place with a jump of 11 feet and was inches away from setting another school record. It’s easy to compete this well when you have Valedictorian Tanner McDougal by your side, giving you motivation. Last but not least was Pierson Pilgrim, who did not have his best day. However, Pierson’s not-so-good day is better than 99% of pole vaulters’ best days. Pierson finished in 1st place with a jump of 14 feet—just something light. The kid is literally competing against himself, trying to break his own records. It was an excellent all around effort from everyone. Go Eagles! Pride! Pride!

  • Have you ever wished you could get better sleep? Its a fact that reading before bed promotes relaxation and improves sleep quality. Taylor Swift once expressed her thoughts on reading as "Books train your mind to imagination to think big."

  • Congratulations to the Lady Eagle softball team for winning the District opener against Floresville last night 4-3. Scarlet Travis hit 5 homerun this season and her 19th career. Each homerun extends the career record for Scarlet. Scarlet also helps out her own cause on the mound with 8 strike outs and several put our on defense. A key catch came from Gillianne Bazan in the wind to end the game. We play home this Friday vs. Uvalde if the weather does not dampen the spirits.

  • Congratulations to your Lady Eagle soccer team on a dominant 11-0 victory last night! The girls put together an incredible performance on both sides of the field to secure another big district win! We currently remain UNDEFEATED in district with a record of 9-0.

  • Reading helps improve your focus. Regular reading increases attention span and concentration. It also contributes to your academic success. Students who read for pleasure have higher academic achievement. Walt Disney must have known these benefits when he said, "There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate's loot on Treasure Island."
