Accountability & Assessment
TEA Accountability Ratings
The TEA accountability ratings are based on a system that uses various indicators to provide detail on the performance of a school district and individual campuses. The domain framework includes three areas: Student Achievement, Student Progress, and Closing Performance Gaps. For 2022, Pleasanton ISD received a letter grade of a B. For 2023, no ratings have been released due to litigation.
Snapshot: School District Profiles
The Snapshot: School District Profile is available on the Texas Education Agency website. Snapshot summary tables provide district information in some common categories, and a peer search function permits grouping districts according to shared characteristics. While Snapshot does provide an overview of public education in Texas at the state level and for each public school district, it does not provide any campus-level information.
Texas Academic Performance Report
The Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR) pull together a wide range of information on the performance of students in each school and district in Texas every year. Performance is shown disaggregated by student groups, including ethnicity and low income status. The reports also provide extensive information on school and district staff, programs, and student demographics.
School Report Cards
The school report card (SRC) combines accountability ratings, data from the Texas Academic Performance Reports (TAPR), and financial information to give a broad view of campus performance. Available for each campus in Texas, the SRC is intended specifically to inform parents and guardians about a school's individual characteristics and its academic performance.
Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas
The Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (Schools FIRST) is administered by the Texas Education Agency and calculated on information submitted to TEA via the district's Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) submission each year. The Schools FIRST accountability rating system assigns one of four financial accountability ratings to Texas school districts, with the highest being “Superior Achievement,” followed by “Above-Standard Achievement,” “Standard Achievement” and “Substandard Achievement.”
