Volunteers Awarding Innovative Grants

The Pleasanton Education Foundation teamed up with The Women's Club of Pleasanton, TX-GFWC, and the Larry Brown Memorial Scholarship Foundation to sponsor the annual Prize Patrol which delivered innovative educational grants around the district. Together, five grants were awarded, totaling $7,084.55. This year marks a decade of service for the Foundation which is comprised of a volunteer board that relies heavily on generous support of donors, sponsors, volunteers, and Pleasanton ISD. The following campuses received grants:

Pleasanton Primary: Marsha Rivas and Brandi Burkett, $1,263.80, Eagles Stop-Motion Animation Production, Woman's Club of Pleasanton
Pleasanton Elementary: Joe Tovar, $1,000, Extended Music Education through Instruments, PISD Education Foundation
Pleasanton High School: Hollis Stubenthal, $3,100, Rod Building & Crafting, Woman's Club of Pleasanton
Pleasanton High School: PHS Art Department and Mrs. Rankin (JH & Elem), $667.75, Creative Artwork through Creative Writing, Larry Brown Memorial Scholarship
Pleasanton High School: Mrs. Tierrablanca and Mrs. Riley, $1,053.00, Flexible Seating for Focused Students, PISD Education Foundation

Joining the celebration were members of the PHS Cheerleaders, the PHS Drumline, and the Board of Trustees, who helped spread cheer during the awarding of the grants. Throughout the year, the Foundation works to raise funds to provide grant opportunities for educators and scholarships for graduating seniors.
